The  Summer Camp Manjadi organised by Don Bosco Veedu Society was inaugurated at Don Bosco Center Manacaud on Friday, 17/04/2015. Over 100 children are taking part in the camp. It is being organised for the sixteen year in succession by Don Bosco Veedu Society a Non-Governmental Organization primarily working for the welfare and rehabilitation of poor and marginalized children.

Fr. PD Thomas, Director of Trivandrum Don Bosco gave a brief description about the summer camp during his welcome speech. The Summer camp consists of classes on personality development, Health and hygiene, leadership, spoken English, music, yoga, skill training and child issues like addiction to drug, social media, mobile etc. It has also lots of fun and frolic and talent development programmes.

 Inaugurating the camp, chief guest Sri. Kochu Preman, Malayalam Cine Artist, encouraged the students to spend their vacation usefully. He noted that he was happy to see and be with the children of Don Bosco where the majority of the children find their life more meaningful. The one month long summer camp could do wonders, he added. Fr. Stephen Mukkattil , Vicar of Sahaya Matha Church, presides over the function  and addressed the gathering.

Children are divided in to four groups and Mr. Manuel George, Senior Staff of Don Bosco handed over the flags to the captain and vice-captain of each groups. After the inauguration, there was a veriety entertaintment programme performed by the campers.  Mr. Shiva Prasad is the camp Coordinator.

The Summer Camp is scheduled to end on 6th May with a Picnic and School Material distribution to all the participants.
