Summer Camp, Mambazham Inaugurated
It is summer vacation for
children and Don Bosco has begun the summer camp for poor children in and
around Karimadom Slum. There are over 75 children who are participating in the
Summer Camp. The Summer Camp this year is named Mambazham.
The inaugural function of
the camp took place on 24th April, 2014. The inaugural function was
graced by Jyotsna, a well known singer of Kerala. Cine and serial artist Mr.
Biju Varghese also participated in the inaugural ceremony and handed over the
camp flags to different teams. Fr. Francis Karackatt, the Rector of Don Bosco
Manacaud presided over the inaugural ceremony and Fr. Santhosh also was present
on the occasion. The parents of the
children took part in the inaugural ceremony and Mr. Thampi is the Camp Chief
for the year.
The Summer Camp is
scheduled to end on 17th of May with a picnic and School materials
distribution for all the participants.
